Tecnara’s Slimline shrink-fit chucking system features a slim body to avoid interference in difficult mold and die applications. The company says this enables users to approach at a deeper point and ensures increased accuracy, rigidity and chucking torque in a variety of difficult applications, including aluminum. The 3-degree tapered body enables interference-free operation with minimum wall thickness of 0.059".
Manufactured from special alloy steel that features a high coefficient of thermal expansion, the chucking system enables insertion and removal of cutting tools at lower temperatures, the company says. It also includes coolant through the body.
Available in 1,500 combinations with a variety of projection lengths, the system’s 0.00012" TIR accuracy is said to increase tool life. The chucking system is designed for operations of 40,000 rpm and higher speeds.
