Leaders-In background

Galil Motion Control’s GalilSuite revision 1.0 software package is designed for configuring, analyzing and tuning the company’s motion control systems. The suite replaces the previous GalilTools and WSDK software and features an improved user interface and servo tuning capabilities with multiple tuning methods, real-time scopes and management capabilities for multiple devices. The software suite is compatible with Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows 7 and Windows 8.

The GalilSuite includes a range of tools for working with controllers. For instance, the Launcher tool manages controller connections; the Configuration tool defines parameters; the Terminal tool enters and receives controller commands; and the Viewer provides a graphical display of the controller and I/O status in a tabular format. The Editor tool enables writing, saving and executing application programs, and provides auto-completion with predictive source code suggestions, auto-insertion of subroutines, tracking of subroutine labels and a project module that enables code re-use. The Scope tool captures and plots controller data such as motor position and velocity, and provides informative scope measurements. A Tuner tool offers four methods for tuning with a graphical view of multiple tuning responses. The tool enables selection of controller PID parameters for optimized servo-system response.
