Leaders-In background

Edgecam 2016 R2, available from Vero Software, now offers increased access to memory, improving overall efficiency when working with large files. The program is able to load solid models faster than the previous version.

The CAM software features the Waveform roughing strategy, a high-speed machining cycle that is available for milling and turning, delivering consistent tool engagement with the material, thereby maintaining constant tool cutting load. Waveform is designed to maintain machine tool velocity while decreasing cycle time and increasing tool life by generating smooth tool paths to avoid sharp changes in direction.

The Rough Turn cycle features a new Ramp Cut strategy which is typically used for turning deep recesses with double-sided turning inserts. The strategy is designed to extend tool life by constantly changing the contact point on the insert to avoid notching. Ramp Cut can be used with decreasing cut increments.

The latest version of the software also offers extended collision detection and improved NC output for machining holes. The Hole Cycle works in unison with the Update Fixture command to avoid collisions with fixtures by using clearance and retract values parameters.
