Version 6.1 of Third Wave System’s Production Module NC program optimization software integrates physics-based workpiece material models, cutting tool geometries, CAD/CAM inputs, and machine dynamics to predict and display machining performance indicators not easily attainable from trial-and-error testing. The program modifies feed rates by plotting factors such as force, temperature and spindle power along the entire tool path. This is said to help companies create processes that machine faster and promote better tool life and part quality.
