The company’s ADS grinder is said to eliminate the need to buy multiple grinders for specialized grinding applications. Upgrade kits include an operator control panel, software, servo motor and drivers, enabling shop owners to configure the machine for multi-slicing, crisscross grinding and CBN/diamond wheel truing. Upgrades can be done within 48 hours, the company says.

The machine is designed to meet miscellaneous grinding needs in the medical, automotive, magnetic and aerospace industries. The machine is based on the ADII design, which features rough and fine grinding capabilities, spark out, return to “0” position and miscellaneous presets. An overhead dresser with automatic compensation is available as an option for unattended grinding.

New features include one-touch cross feed stroke setting, digital elevating and cross feed displays, ballscrew in cross feed and remote MPG. The machine delivers 16-82 fpm infinite variable table speed, 0.0001” least input increment in crossfeed, 0.00005” minimum increment in wheelhead and 0-10 fpm wheelhead feed.

Construction features include permanently lubricated heavy-duty spindle supported by four Class 7 angular contact ball bearings, hardened and ground steel guideways and precision roller bearings in the elevating guideway. Other features include a saddle and table, operator-friendly control station, play compensating feed nut and hardened and ground leadscrew that eliminates backlash and worm/worm gear type micro cross feed device. Each machine has been tested for positioning, table flatness, parallelism and dynamic balance. Models are available in 8” x 1812” x 24, 16” x 32” and 16” x 40” table sizes.
