PCT introduces its 363-series end mill for machining aluminum. This tool’s design is based on the 360-series tool but modified specifically for roughing applications. The end mill has a three-flute design, with variable flute spacing (pitch) and variable helix. The company says its chipbreaker technology facilitates more aggressive speeds and feeds., while variable geometry helps reduce chatter. Meanwhile, an exclusive radial primary edge grind helps to prevent chipping on initial contact with the part. This tool comes with PCT’s Z-Power coating and has the option to be upgraded to the Exxtral carbon coating, which is said to increase performance 300-400 percent over standard PVD.
