Kurt’s SideWinder vise mounts to the back of the company’s industry-standard 6" vises to provide vertical workholding for second-operation machining in a single setup. Featuring an 80,000-psi ductile iron body, the vise is well-suited for machining operations including precision boring, tapping, drilling and finishing. An integral bracket with stabilization feature enables mounting to the machine table on the movable end of the vise, and a workstop provides vertical positioning. According to the company, the elevated position enables longer-reach machining that does not interfere with the operating envelope of the host vise. Featuring the company’s Anglock design for decreased jaw deflection, the vise is said to distribute the clamping force evenly and precisely across the full jaw surface.
The company will also display its expanded pull-type HD690 vise, 3400 ultra-precision vise and MaxLock five-axis vise lines.
