SNK America’s CMV-100 vertical machining center is said to provide efficient, precise five-axis machining and contouring in applications such as three-dimensional work profiles for dies and molds, aircraft components, and more. The VMC features a column-feed design and construction that eliminates table overhang, ensuring accuracy in prolonged machining.
The VMC’s wide, +30/-120-degree A-axis tilting spindle head enables undercuts in a single setup. A 40/30-hp spindle motor delivers both high-speed and high-power cutting capability. The spindle speed range of 40 to 8,000 rpm, with a maximum continuous torque rating of 600 Nm (442 foot-pounds) allows for a variety of machining requirements.
The 39.3- in.2 table provides a maximum load capacity of 3,300 lbs (without automatic pallet changer). It also features rotary table dynamic fixture compensation, which automatically compensates for work origin moves due to C-axis rotation of the rotary table. XYZ travels measure 59" × 52.3" × 51.1".
A FANUC 31i-B5 CNC provides control features designed to simplify demanding machining applications while delivering high workpiece finishes.
Other machine features include an two-pallet automatic pallet changer; an 80-tool automatic toolchanger ; tool axis manual movement function; scale feedback; workpiece probe; automatic tool length and diameter measuring function with broken tool detection slideway covers; spindle speed and load display meters;cycle completion total shutoff function; through-spindle coolant; splashguard; and chip conveyor. Optional features include a mist coolant device, mist collector and ATCs accommodating 50 to 312 tools.
