One of three large-footprint JetMachining centers available from Omax, the 55100 can accommodate sheets of material as large as 5' × 10'. The waterjet is capable of cutting complex, flat parts from various metals and composites. The company's Windows-based control software allows operators to machine parts directly from pre-existing CAD drawings or .DXF files. Users can also opt to create drawings with Layout, the company's built-in design software. The machine's short setup time makes it useful for short-run part production, just-in-time manufacturing and prototype development, the company says.
