The 80X JetMachining Center on display from Omax processes large, complex components or multiple parts in various materials and thicknesses with high speed and precision. The company attributes its performance to the Intelli-Max software suite and EnduroMax pump design. The intuitive software optimizes the machine’s tool path for consistent quality and repeatable results, while the efficient pump provides faster cutting speeds per unit of input than other intensifier designs. At the show, the 80X will be equipped with the 100-hp EnduroMax pump, said to operate at 85 percent efficiency. This increased efficiency enables the pump to deliver more horsepower to the cutting nozzle for a stronger abrasive stream and faster cutting speeds.
The optional A-Jet multi-axis cutting head adds two motion axes to the waterjet machine for complete five-axis machining of beveled edges, angled sides, 3D shapes and countersinks while compensating for taper. The rotary axis provides infinite rotation while cutting. The machine’s precision optical locator eases the process of locating points, edges or holes on a pre-machined workpiece as it sits on the cutting table ready for secondary operations.
