Available from Absolute, the AccuteX AS-1165 heavy-duty wire EDM accommodates workpieces weighing as much as 9,000 lbs. The machine is equipped with an annealing, fully automatic wire threading system with a tip disposal unit. The stable discharge (SD) Master powers the servo system to reduce wire breakage during production while increasing machining repeatability. The remote Master enables real-time monitoring of cutting time, efficiency and job status from a PC with complete software integration. The Accutex CE-based windows control coupled with a corner control automatically sets parameters to maintain cutting performance and accuracy.
Travels measure 43.3" × 25.6" × 23.6" × 5.9" in the X, Y, Z and UV axes, respectively. Anti-crash protection is provided on all axes. Rapid traverse rates range to 51.1 ipm with simultaneous wire feed rates ranging to 590 ipm using electrode wire diameters ranging from 0.006" to 0.013". The Meehanite-cast body features a honeycombed base with highly ribbed column mounted on an oversized UVZ axis and reinforced lower arm to increase stiffness.
