Global EDM Inc. introduces the Excetek VGPlus series of wire EDMs. The series has a new digital power manager for improved cutting and accuracy, an HP AVR circuit for better accuracy with multiple parts, and two options on cutting surface roughness: the WGPlus SKD-11 (0.3 micron Ra) and the WGPlus tungsten carbide (0.1 micron Ra). The company says that this series is ideal for those seeking a modern wire EDM with a user-friendly control interface.
There are four models in this series. X, Y and Z axes measure 15.7" × 11.8" × 8.7" on the V400G Plus; 19.7" × 11.8" × 12.2" on the V500G Plus; 25.6" × 15.7" × 16.1" on the V650G Plus; and 31.5" × 19.7" × 13.8" on the V850G Plus.
Other features include a Windows XP-based control; rigid, heavily-ribbed, high-grade Meehanite castings; an ultra-precise direct-couple drive system (no belts); electrolysis-free machining with Digital Power Manager technology; and intelligent servo-controlled wire threading technology.
