The Merlin Mobile wrist-band electronic gage computer enables operators to store, retrieve and manage gage measurement data from locations throughout the facility. The unit’s integrated LAN interface permits wireless connection to the plant network. According to the company, using the device with its M1 Wave electronic OD and ID gages with Bluetooth wireless technology can eliminate wires and cables from measurement and inspection procedures.   The gage computer features a 3.5" color LCD touchscreen; embedded Bluetooth and security encrypted WiFi circuitry; and a removable SD flash memory card. The unit can store 50-part measurement programs, each with a maximum of eight characteristics. Operators can be prompted by programmable, step-by-step directions with a maximum of three measures per step. Static acquisitions and zeroing and sensitivity adjustments are also provided.   The computer’s color LCD screen can display as many as three bar graphs per page with value, status color and part counts. The computer incorporates the Microsoft Windows CE 6.0 operating system as well as measuring software designed for touchscreen operation. Advanced power management allows a maximum yield from Li-Ion rechargeable cells, providing hours of autonomy, the company says.
