The Chiron Group is hosting an at its facility in Tuttlingen, Germany, from May 13-15. The event will feature 1,500 square meters of exhibition space, 12 machining and turnkey solutions for all user industries as well as the world premiere of its DZ 22 W speed+machining center. In addition, the event will feature exhibits from 35 partner companies, a lecture program with topics such as friction stir welding and gear cutting as well as presentations on topics such as services, automation, refurbishment and digital solutions.
A key focus of the show, the DZ 22 W speed+ double-spindle five-axis machining center features a spindle distance of 600 mm. The company says it is designed for the complete machining of large components for series production in various industries. According to Senior Product Manager Michael Wurster, the machine features “more traverse path, higher cutting performance, short cycle times plus proven advantages such as maximum precision, maximum dynamics and optimum resource efficiency.”
Michael Eble, head of engineering for the machine platform, adds that the machine enables “a 20% increase in acceleration, a 40% improvement in jerk to reach maximum speed even faster after direction changes. And the new spindle [enables] a ramp-up time of 0.5 seconds and chip-to-chip time of 2.0 seconds.”
Additionally, the company will showcase its FZ 19 S five-axis machining center designed for series production with a compact footprint. With 700-mm travel in Z, the work area is well suited for five-axis simultaneous machining of both cubic and cylindrical workpieces. Another variant of the series is shown by experts in the interactive showroom: the FZ 19 S mill turn, which can also be used for turning applications.
Also on display will be several MT variants of the company’s 715 Series solutions for milling, turning and gear cutting, which are said to support higher part variance and optimized workpiece quality. All machining operations can be performed on one machine in one clamping position, supporting higher precision and leaner production processes.
At the open house, the Chiron Group will also showcase several customized, refurbished solutions for existing machining centers.
Matthias Rapp, vice president global marketing, the focus of the event is not only “the presentation of our innovations but also the intensive, personal exchange. Times are challenging for all players, and our customers have to focus on several goals at the same time. ‘More flexible, more productive, more autonomous, more resilient’ are just a few keywords. This is exactly what we want to talk about, we want to listen carefully and identify solutions based on the specific requirements. Solutions that are future-proof and contribute to continued success in global competition.”
