Dreyer & Reinbold Racing (DRR) has partnered with industrial automation company Hurco (Indianapolis, Indiana) for the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series season. The team will display Hurco’s logo on its No. 22 car, driven by Justin Wilson, and it will construct a new machine shop fully outfitted with Hurco machine tools. 
 
DRR continues to grow as it embarks on its 12th year of open-wheel competition, necessitating a 12,000-square-foot expansion to its 30,000-square-foot facility. Part of that space will house the new Hurco-equipped machine shop. This will become a beta site at which the builder can run different types of software before it goes to market. Both organizations expect the relationship to be mutually beneficial. DRR says the partnership will provide a competitive edge, while Hurco notes that it will be able to use the facility as a beta site for new developments and to showcase its equipment being used in a high-tech market.
