Royal Products showcases its Rota-Rack Compact, which provides unmanned production, batches parts for easy inspection and protects finished turned parts from damage.

This automatic rotary accumulator is designed specifically for small parts and Swiss applications. According to the company, adding a Rota-Rack Compact to a bar-fed Swiss lathe can greatly increase machine utilization and throughput, enabling machines to run around the clock.

Twelve removable bins provide distinct part separation, enabling users to switch from one job to the next without needing to empty the bins. Each bin is equipped with 4-mm-diameter drain holes for continuous return of oil and coolant to the machine sump. The separated bins also enhance quality control and optimize inspection — if the parts in bin 1 and bin 12 are within spec, there is less need to inspect the parts in bins 2-11. In addition, the bins are made from a polymer that helps protect finished components from damage.

The Royal Rota-Rack Compact provides high-volume part collection in a condensed package, featuring a collection volume of 100 cubic inches per bin, or 1,200 cubic inches total. It comes in a compact footprint of less than 21" wide and 26" deep. The unit is height-adjustable to accommodate machines with part exit heights ranging from 24"-33". Programming is said to be quick and easy via the integral programmable logic controller. The unit can also be easily wired into the machine tool control and indexed via M code. The collector operates on 110V power and includes a removable chute.
