Tooling U to Train MSC Reps
MSC Industrial Supply Co. (Melville, New York), a distributor of metalworking and maintenance, repair and operations products and services, has announced an agreement to create a co-branded certificate program with Tooling U, a Society of Manufacturing Engineers company that provides of online training for the manufacturing industry. Every member of MSC’s metalworking sales team will participate in the online training program.

The SME Education Foundation recently made two $25,000 grants geared toward promoting partnerships between manufacturers and educational institutions in order to help address the shortage of skilled workers. The first grant went to the Science Center of Pinellas County, Florida, for a new Design Engineering and Manufacturing Education Program that will provide middle and high school students with the opportunity to obtain MSSC (Manufacturing Skill Standards Council) Production Technician Certification.
