The second annual Organization for Machine Automation and Control (OMAC) integration and interoperability symposium is quickly approaching. The event, hosted by Okuma America Corporation, is scheduled for December 3-4 at the Partners In Thinc facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. The keynote speaker is SAP’s Vivek Bapat, who is also the co-author of “In Pursuit of the Perfect Plant.”
Mr. Bapat will address how production planning, asset management and execution are tightly synchronized in the “perfect plant.” This ensures the plant’s ability to increase yields, improve order fulfillment and respond swiftly to changing demand or supply. According to Mr. Bapat, the vision of the “perfect plant” shows how companies that integrate facets that seem to be from completely different worlds, such as IT, business processes and manufacturing operations, can leverage assets to the fullest and align production performance with strategic objectives.
In addition to the keynote, speaker presentations and demonstrations will be provided by Procter & Gamble, ChipBlaster, nCoat, Gosiger Automation, GE Fanuc, ABB Robotics, and other companies. The theme of this year’s event, Total System Evolution, embraces all industries and is geared toward improving processes, business functions and the ability to meet the changing needs of customers. Attendees can also benefit from networking opportunities and tours of Partners in Thinc and Okuma America headquarters.
