Automated Loading System For Rod Feeders

Share

Leaders-In background

The company announces an automated parts-loading system for bulk rod/shaft feeders. The system is designed to hold 1,500 horizontal, bent raw rods, measuring 4.5 mm in diameter × 690 mm in length, in a part hopper. Different hopper sizes are available upon request. The rod feeder has three stainless steel conveyors that rotate clockwise, parallel to one another. Each conveyor’s steel belt has deep grooves that separate the rods as they slide into the load nest before passing them to the rod straightener, ending the automation process. According to the company, the machines are built using rugged steel and incorporate industry standard parts, including an Allen Bradley PLC unit and a part queue system with a maximum high/low switch. The units run off standard 110 VAC and are designed for speed and safety.
